Africa Center Hong Kong
We are a platform & creative hub that fosters value-creating interactions between African and non-African communities in Asia
About Us
Established in 2019, Africa Centre Hong Kong (ACHK) is a Hong Kong-based social enterprise that promotes African culture and engages cross-cultural dialogue through different clubs, activities, and workshops.
Our Mission

Rebranding Blackness
Blackness is often associated with danger and/or vulnerability, we challenge this perception and offer an opportunity to appreciate and benefit from accurate representations of blackness.
Connect Communities
We aim to become the biggest uniquely African platform in Asia to connect and build communities across ethnic groups, gender, socio-economic status, etc., and facilitate value-exchange between these communities.
Black Consciousness
We champion an African perspective, especially the need for consciousness of the power dynamics rooted in colonialism and the need for self-love. We emphasize the value and need of an African perspective in today’s uncertain world.
Values
Diversity
We welcome and appreciate different perspectives
Curiosity
We value curiosity and encourage everyone to ask
Empathy
We encourage and cultivate stepping into others’ shoes and seeing the world through their own eyes
Dignity
We prioritize dignity and respect in every interaction

ChungKing Mension Tour
Some say it’s the only place that makes Hong Kong different from any Chinese city. A symbol for globalization, ‘home’ to many Africans and South Asians, a place Cantonese mothers warn their kids against. Chungking Mansions is a lot of things to different people. Our tour leads participants to understand what this place means for residents and Africans in particular.

Injera Night
